The Kiru Way

Find your flow.
Cut the noise.

Why slow is the secret to flow.

Modern cycling is obsessed with the red line: burning lungs, shouting dashboards. At Kiru, we believe the most powerful place you can be is just below the noise. This is Zone 2.

The pyramid principle.

Think of your fitness as a pyramid. Your peak (sprinting, climbing, speed) can only be as high as your base is wide.

The base: 80% of your rides.

This is Zone 2. It's a rhythmic, steady pace where you can still breathe through your nose and hold a conversation. It feels almost too easy. That's the point.

The peak: 20% of your rides.

This is the high-intensity effort. Most riders get stuck in the middle, going too hard to build a base, but too easy to build a peak. They create noise without building power.

To ride like Tadej Pogačar, you must master the base. He spends the vast majority of his time in this quiet zone, building an engine so efficient it rarely needs to redline.

Beyond the pedals: the holistic cycle.

The Kiru Way doesn't end when the timer stops. A strong base requires a flexible frame and a quiet mind.

Mobility as armour.

Cycling closes the body. We hunch and we tuck. Use off-bike mobility to open the chest and hips. A body that isn't fighting itself finds flow faster.

Strength for stability.

You don't need bulk, you need a core that acts as an anchor. Two short sessions a week of single-leg movements ensure your power is steady, not frantic.

Mindful transitions.

Use the moments before and after your ride for box breathing: 4 seconds in, 4 hold, 4 out, 4 hold. This lowers your baseline stress before you even clip in.

The simple truth.

You don't need to suffer to improve. You need to settle. Zone 2 is the moving meditation that builds the engine required to turn a simple workout into a journey.

Wide base. Quiet mind. Just pedal.
